The objective of the Green Harbor Yacht Club is to encourage its members in becoming proficient in navigation and all matters pertaining to seamanship and in particular that which applies to safety and good conduct of its members on the water, and to promote social activities for its members and their guests. An additional objective is to offer sailing instruction to the children and grandchildren of members and all the youth of Marshfield subject to guidelines promulgated by the Board of Directors.

Personal Information will not be made available to anyone outside of GHYC and the printed roster is strictly for members only. Check the boxes if you don’t want a number listed.

There is a 12-month probationary period for memberships, following the approval of the Membership Committee and final vote of the Board of Directors, as per Article 6 of the Green Harbor Yacht Club by-laws.

 

AGREEMENT
I have an interest in boating and hereby apply for membership in the Green Harbor Yacht Club. In consideration of the acceptance by Green Harbor Yacht Club of my membership application, I hereby accept all of the risks and responsibilities of my participation in all club races, regattas, raft-ups, parties, social gatherings and other club events. I agree to waive and release any and all claims, including those of negligence or equivalent conduct which I may have against the Green Harbor Yacht Club and the Directors, committees, members, organizing bodies and sponsors for any liabilities arising out of or in any way connected with my participation or the participation of my family members, crew members or guests in any club events whether on the water or off the water. This release is not intended to release any individual for any damages caused by their negligence or intentional acts as a participant or a spectator.

A check for $100 payable to GHYC must be submitted with application. Applicants will be notified by mail when their application has been acted upon. Application fee will be returned if application is rejected by the Board of Directors. If accepted, current membership fees & dredging assessment will be due in addition to application fee. GREEN HARBOR YACHT CLUB APPLICATION PROCEDURE

 

Members may not sponsor more than 2 applications per year. Application for membership must have the endorsement of two voting members of the club who have been members in good standing for at least three consecutive years prior to the date of application. Sponsors may not be family members. Both sponsors must sign the application and each sponsor must write a separate letter of endorsement. All paperwork should be sent to the GHYC Membership Committee, P0 Box 209, Green Harbor, MA. 02041.

 

Applicant’s and sponsor’s  names will be posted at the Club and will be printed in the newsletter. Approval of Membership Committee and Board of Directors is required.  

Due upon acceptance or addition to the waiting list if any, is a $100 application fee, refundable only if the application is rejected by the Board of Directors. 

The waiting list, if any, will be maintained by the Membership Committee.

New memberships to Green Harbor Yacht Club are subject to a one year probationary period, during which time the member may not vote or rent the club.
